According to several published reports, the rumors are true - Disney plans a new 800 room resort on the island of Oahu. This new Disney Vacation Club resot will be located on the southwestern side of Oahu, about 25 miles from Honalulu.

All but 2 of the current 8 Disney Vacation Club properties are currently located at Walt Disney World in FLorida. The other two resorts are located at Vero Beach, Florida and Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.

Imagineering continues as they plan on beginning construction in 2008, with completion in 2011. According to Disney sources, the only characters that will be featured at the resort will be ones that make sense with the location and theme.

Other potential expansion locations for the Disney Vacation CLub include the carribean and Lake Tahoe.
